Pensions Monitor is pleased to announce that Nisha Braganza, Editor-in-Chief of Pensions Monitor, has been officially registered as a financial influencer (“FinFluencer”) under the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority’s (SCA) Board of Directors Resolution No. 10 of 2025, which came into effect on 28 May 2025.

The new regulation requires that UAE-resident individuals, who share financial information, or provide recommendations to the public, whether about issuers, financial products, virtual assets, or financial services, must be registered with SCA and adhere to rigorous standards. The goal is to ensure that financial content shared online is accurate, responsible, and in the best interests of the public.

Commenting on the registration, Nisha said: “The new FinFluencer regulation is a welcome step. Obtaining registration wasn’t quick. It took months of detailed validation of my experience. But the timing couldn’t have been better. My registration aligns closely with Pensions Monitor’s purpose to support the UAE’s transition from traditional gratuity to a funded End-of-Service Benefit (EOSB) savings scheme, a government-led transformation that genuinely puts residents first, and one that I’m deeply passionate about.”

Furthermore, Pensions Monitor is also pleased to welcome two new members to its Board of Directors:

Ruan van Rensburg, consulting actuary and founder of Lux Actuaries. Ruan brings a wealth of actuarial experience, particularly in employee benefits and pension fund design. Notably, Lux Actuaries Financial Consulting LLC (LAFC) is also licensed by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) as a Category 5 Financial Consultancy, authorised to conduct Financial Analysis, Recommendations and Planning for both companies and individuals within the UAE.

Nikolaus Frei, an industry veteran having held various senior executive positions within the insurance sector. Nick currently serves on the Board of Directors of several insurance and InsurTech companies, including EuroIns Insurance Group, MainsLab and Benefitster Employee Benefits and Risk Tech Ltd.

Nisha added “I’m delighted to welcome Ruan and Nick to our board. Their experience comes at a time of growing interest in EOSB solutions across the UAE and GCC. Their insight will be invaluable for our growth.”

Pensions Monitor would like to emphasize all editorial decisions continue to remain fully under the purview of Nisha Braganza as Editor-in-Chief. More details on our editorial policy can be found here.
